Elaine at Windsor Women's 10K 2019

It's ladies day again at Windsor on 25 September

The Running4Women Windsor Women's 10K returns with a dramatic start and finish in front of Windsor Castle

The 17th Running4Women Windsor Women's 10K will take place in the historic Crown Estate of Windsor Great Park on Saturday 25 September 2021 and entries are going fast. The women-only race was last held in 2019, when Charlotte Taylor-Green (Bristol & West, 35:58) beat a record field of 1,594 finishers in 1:46:50, as described in our race report here

Taylor-Green claimed the scalp of the 2014 European 10,000m champion Jo Pavey MBE but there was a very good reason for this apparent shock defeat. Pavey had fulfilled the duties of guest starter for the Saucony-sponsored event before joining the race and working her way through the pack for second place in 37:50, with Emma Feamhead (unattached, 39:06) third.

With the 2020 race lost to the Covid-19 pandemic and most competitors having transferred their entries to 2021 there are limited spaces still available so Running4Women recommend, with less than 80 days to go, that you take urgent action to secure your number for this year's race.

Windsor Women's 10K strapline is: "It's More Than a Race - It's a Community". That's setting the bar pretty high for any running event, but a vibrant Facebook group and downloadable training programmes - Beginner, Intermediate, and Improver - by Windsor Running Festival Race Director Peter Heir and event Coach James Thie, go a long way towards meeting that statement.

On race day there is a 'Sprite Sprint' for 5 to 9-year-olds at 9:15am and the unmissable group warm-up starts at 9:25am before the klaxon sounds at 10:00am for an unforgettable tour of Windsor Great Park's historic landmarks.

Your entry fee includes a unique medal; aerobic warm-up to music; full medical cover; fun children's entertainment and one of the best Event Villages around. There is also free on-site, professionally-managed car parking and the fabulous views of Windsor Castle are thrown in free of charge!

New for this year is the Business Challenge with 200 places reserved for entrants representing business teams (minimum three to count).
