Will You Run Wigan?

Get ready for this year's Wigan 10K...

Two months to go until this year's Wigan 10K which will return to the town on Sunday 3 September and organisers have announced that registration fees have been frozen at 2022 prices!

As in previous years, the 10K route will start and finish on Market Street in Wigan town centre. There will be live entertainment on stage, and the continental food markets will be in town, so organisers are encouraging all runners and spectators to hang around in the town after the run to make the most of the atmosphere.

This event is organised in conjunction with Team JJ, and all registration fees go directly to the charity to be invested in research and clinical positions to help in the battle to find treatments and end Duchenne for all boys living with this horrible muscle wasting and ultimately incurable condition.

Speaking after last year's event, a spokesperson said: "We are absolutely thrilled to confirm that the terrific 10th HW Moon Toyota Wigan 10K has raised a sensational £17,000 for our organising charity Joining Jack.

"We might be a little biased but we think the new Event HQ and Start/Finish locations at Mesnes Park were a huge success. The feedback from runners and spectators has been overwhelmingly positive with the atmosphere before, during and after our races absolutely amazing."

Jake Sache of St Helens Striders won the race in a time of 33:31 with first female spot going to Lucy Fairclough of St Helens & Sutton AC who clocked 35:01.

This year, prizes will be awarded for the first, second and third male and female runners, as well as the winners of a number of other categories, and there will be an awards ceremony for the winners held on the day on the main stage in the town centre. If you don't expect a podium position, then don't worry as all runners will receive a finisher's goody bag and medal.
