Two Castles Run

A Race With Rich History

Running between two ancient castles is the USP for this popular 10K...

Entries are open for the 42nd edition of the popular Two Castles Run, which returns on 14 June with its trademark journey between two of England’s most historic landmarks. Organised by Kenilworth Runners, the much loved 10K race begins in the grounds of Warwick Castle, originally built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, before winding its way along quiet Warwickshire country roads to a memorable finish within the medieval grounds of Kenilworth Castle, which dates back to the 12th century.

Organisers say: "Few races can claim a start and finish quite like it, and that unique castle to castle route is a major part of the event’s enduring appeal. Our race is widely regarded as one of the most scenic 10Ks in the country. Runners can expect rolling countryside and a few testing inclines, but nothing too extreme, making it an attractive challenge for a wide range of abilities. Every finisher will receive a commemorative medal and a technical T shirt."

Demand for places is expected to be high once again. Last year’s event sold out within weeks and attracted close to 4,000 runners. In 2025, Stratford upon Avon AC’s Callum Hanlon took the men’s title in 33:20, while Francesca Gibbs of Coventry Godiva Harriers was first woman home in 36:15.

Beyond the racing, the volunteer led event has helped raise millions of pounds for good causes over the years, and participants are encouraged to fundraise as part of their preparations. For many runners, supporting a charity adds extra motivation in training and on race day, while helping to continue the event’s tradition of giving back.
