Tiree 10K and Half Marathon

Take A Trip To Tiree

One of Scotland's scenic island races returns in 2026 with record demand already evident...

One of Scotland’s most scenic and welcoming island events will return in 2026 with Tiree 10K and Half Marathon bringing runners back to the island on 2 May. Set on the stunning Hebridean island of Tiree, the race has become a firm favourite for those seeking beautiful views, fresh sea air and a relaxed yet rewarding running challenge.

Known for its long beaches, clear waters and friendly atmosphere, the event caters for all abilities, from casual joggers to those chasing podium finishes and personal bests. Organisers say the event is about more than just racing, highlighting the joy of running and the chance to embrace the island’s unique landscape.

The 10K follows one lap of the East End course, finishing back on the beach, while the half marathon doubles the distance with two laps before finishing along the same coastal stretch.

This year’s opening round of entries sold out in record time with organisers confirming it was the fastest start list ever. The next phase of entries opens on Sunday 21 December at 6pm, with no waiting list available. Those keen to take part are advised to set an alarm!

The Tiree 10K and Half Marathon began in 2006 and has grown into one of the highlights of the island calendar. Runners from across the world travel to Tiree each year, with past participants coming from as far afield as Slovakia, Brazil, Canada and Australia. The weekend concludes with an evening prizegiving and the much-loved post-race ceilidh, ensuring celebrations continue long after the finish line.
