A point to point journey through Speyside awaits runners at the Skedaddle Speyside 10K on Sunday 11 October, with a route stretching from Archiestown to the famous Cardhu Distillery.

Organised by Skedaddle North, the 10K provides a distinctive finale to the four race Speyside Series, which began with the Archiestown 5K in April and continued with the Dufftown 5 Mile in July and Speyside Windfarm Challenge Half Marathon in August. Runners can enter the October race individually, with their result still counting towards the overall series.

Race day begins at Archiestown Village Hall, where registration opens from 9.30am ahead of the 11.00am start from the village square. From there, runners climb gradually for around the opening mile into Elchies woods on wide forestry tracks before the course begins to undulate.

As the route unfolds, there are views towards Little Conval, Meikle Conval and Ben Rinnes. At around four miles the running becomes narrower and muddier before competitors descend a faster section of the Mannoch Road, with the Speyside skyline and, when conditions allow, views towards the Cairngorms providing the backdrop.

The final stages take runners around Cardhu reservoir and towards the finish at Cardhu Distillery. It is an unusual destination for a 10K and one that gives the race a strong connection with its Speyside surroundings. Runners aged over 18 can even enjoy an optional complimentary dram at the finish, courtesy of Cardhu Distillery.

A free shuttle bus will operate between the start and finish areas, helping runners manage the logistics of the point to point course. Water is provided around halfway and at the finish, while volunteer marshals, first aid provision and a sweeper runner will support competitors around the route.

Places are limited to 150 and there will be no entries on race day. Advance entries close at midnight on Friday 9 October, giving anyone planning to join the field a firm deadline to keep in mind.

With woodland tracks, open views, a fast descent and a finish at one of Speyside's best known distilleries, the Skedaddle Speyside 10K has an identity all of its own. It also provides a fitting final challenge for runners who have spent 2026 working their way through the four very different races of the Speyside Series.
