Croft Canter

Cantering Into Autumn

This trail event may not be timed, but the cakes are worth every mile you run...

Don’t miss out on this perfect mix of outdoor adventure and cake indulgence. Grab your running shoes, rally your friends and enjoy a day of fitness, fun, and fabulous food! The Croft Canter on 28 September is a 10 mile (roughly) trail run which raises money for a variety of charities.

Starting in the Leicestershire village of Croft, the route utilises public footpaths and bridleways through farmland in the local areas surrounding the village. Participants will be provided with a route map and description via email pre event, as it is self navigating, but there will be lots of course markers along the way, and the route will also traverse Croft Hill.

Speaking about the unique event, oranisers said: "Further to the feedback, we will not be timing the event, people stated they enjoyed not having the pressure of a race and instead being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery (and cakes) with friends. This is, and always has been, a challenge not a race!"

The idea is to raise money for charity and have a fun time running through the countryside and exploring new areas whilst doing so. There will be a checkpoint en route offering cakes and drinks and at the end all participants will be provided with a hotdog, more cakes to choose from and soft drinks.

The challenge will start and finish at Aggregate Industries Site, with the large AllTruck Garden adjacent being the refreshments area. The Heathcote Arms is a stone's throw away for anyone who wants to treat themselves to a well deserved pint after the event.
