Bourton Half Marathon

The Cotswolds Are Calling

There's still time to sign up for this gorgeous Cotswolds half marathon...

There is never a bad time to visit The Cotswolds, and if you fancy a trip combined with a race this month then check out the Bourton Half Marathon which returns this year on 29 September and there are still some spots available.

The Bourton Half Marathon follows a scenic route through the amazing Cotswolds countryside around Bourton-on-the-Water. It is a single lap route on undulating, sometimes hilly, rural roads with some spectacular views en route. Runners will be faced with ‘The Steeps’ within the first mile (the first of two major climbs) and the second major climb toward Clapton provides some stunning views.

The Bourton Half is part of the Gloucester AAA 2024 Road Racing Series and incorporates the Gloucestershire County Half Marathon championships. But the day isn't just for the serious runners as there is also a 1.5 mile fun run which will take place while the half marathon competitors are running.

There is an extensive prize list and there is also an extra bonus for a course record. Jane Fairbairn of Cheltenham & County Harriers set the current female record in 2023 with a time of 1:34:09 and the male record was also set in 2023 by Ben Robinson of Bristol and West in 1:10:59.

It is also worth noting that all finishers in this race will be given access to a priority entry to the Bourton 10K which is sceduled for February 2025.
