The Somerset and Dorset line earned the nickname 'Slow and Dirty' from its stopping trains and ageing stock, but the modern race is anything but slow on the firm, hard-packed surface.
Starting in Sturminster Newton, you'll run alongside the River Stour valley, passing restored Shillingstone station and the Georgian town of Blandford. Dogs, buggies and runners of all abilities are welcome. The festive atmosphere continues at the finish with mulled wine, cider and mince pies.
