Fifteen Thousand Runners And Counting For London Winter Run

More than 15,000 places have been sold for the Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2027, with the next public entry allocation opening on 5 November....

Fifteen thousand places sold, three entry allocations filled and another 11,000 runners potentially still to join the party. The Cancer Research UK London Winter Run 2027 is building towards another huge turnout, with organisers preparing to release the next allocation of public entries at midday on Thursday 5 November.

Returning for its 12th edition on Sunday 21 February, the event has established itself as the UK's largest 10K, combining the scale of a major city centre race with a rather unusual approach to winter entertainment. With an overall capacity of 26,000, demand is already strong more than three months before runners take to the streets of London.

The flat, traffic free course passes some of the capital's best known landmarks, offering club runners an opportunity to chase an early season personal best while providing a useful challenge for those preparing for spring marathons. But this is a race where the entertainment can be almost as memorable as the running.

Dancing penguins outside the Bank of England, polar bears in Trafalgar Square and live music along the route have become familiar features of the event. Organisers have also revealed a sparkling new medal for 2027, continuing a tradition of distinctive finisher rewards.

The race supports Cancer Research UK, with participants encouraged to use their 10K challenge to raise funds for the charity's work. Discounted group packages are also available for teams of four or eight, giving friends and running clubs another reason to take part together.

With more than half the available places already taken, the next public entry release on 5 November could prove particularly popular. Runners can register their interest in advance to receive notification when entries become available.

You can do that now via the runABC race hub.
