Step up for refugees and Run 4 Ukraine
All profits will be donated to the DEC Ukraine Appeal.
On Saturday 26 March at 12 noon, Run 4 Ukraine will take place at The Quarry Park, Shrewsbury and everyone is invited to join in and help those fleeing war in their country. Run 2.5K or 5K in solidarity with others with all profits going to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Appeal.
Tickets went on sale yesterday at 7pm for Run 4 Ukraine and the event has already attracted a great deal of interest from people moved by the plight of the refugees and keen to show their support.
We're all truly shocked and outraged by the invasion. Events such as these we never thought we'd see in the 21st century. Justin Klekot of Run UKAC has, like the rest of us, been affected by what’s happened in the last two weeks which he describes as: “Horrific. How this has happened in modern age Europe is mind boggling and our hearts are breaking for the people of Ukraine.”
This event is Run UKAC’s way of helping innocent people whose lives have been turned upside down by war. The UK government will match pound for pound all the monies raised.
It is open to individuals, friends, families, work colleagues and children. Everyone is welcome to run or walk 2.5K or 5K. Wheelchairs, buggies and prams are equally welcome as are dogs (on leads).
Entries are £10 or £11.50 with chip timing.
