Head For The Coast

Situated on the Cornwall/Devon border, the Rame Head Race is a corker...

Rame Head Heritage Coast is a dramatic coastal headland in southeast Cornwall. It overlooks Plymouth Sound and the English Channel. It is renowned for its 14th-century chapel, the South West Coast Path, and stunning coastal views.

It is also the setting for the Rame Head Race organised by Sportiva Events on Saturday, 13th June 2026, where you will find everything from 1K and 2K kids' races to a full marathon on challenging trails around the Mount Edgecombe Peninsula.

Enter this event and you'll have the opportunity to test yourself on a 10.6K loop that boasts 190 metres of elevation gain. Run two laps for a half-marathon or go all in for four laps for the full marathon – the choice is yours.

The kids' races start at 9:30am. The marathon starts at 10:30am, and the 10K and half-marathon start together at 11:10am. Finally, the Canicross 10K race starts at 11:25am. Registration opens at 8:00am for all events.

The start is at the Mount Edgecombe Railway and Model Society at Mount Edgecombe Country Park – part of the Cornwall National Landscape. The 10K loop runs anti-clockwise on the coastal path to Kingsand and the edge of Millbrook, returning via Cremyll to the finish line.

There is plenty of paid-for parking within easy reach of the event HQ. Your race entry includes the Cremyll Ferry journey for foot passengers provided by Plymouth Boat Trips Company. The trip from Plymouth takes just 8 minutes, and an early service will be available for competitors, spectators and marshals, with the first crossing from Royal William Yard at 7.45am.

According to the Rame Head Race website, the route is a corker, with great views and terrain. It has a good mix of hills and flatter, faster sections. The marathon has a generous 7.5-hour cut-off time in recognition of the nearly 800m of ascent.

You can enter now via runABC South.
