Chichester Half Marathon 2026

A Fresh Chapter For The Chichester Half Marathon

The Chichester Half Marathon enters a new era under UK Running Events and More Leisure, combining historic city streets with spectacular South Downs scenery.

This relates to: Chichester Half Marathon

The Chichester Half Marathon returns on Sunday 4 October with UK Running Events taking over the organisation of one of West Sussex's longest established autumn races. Now in its 14th year, the event continues its tradition of showcasing both the historic city of Chichester and the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Starting close to Chichester College, runners head through the city centre, passing landmarks including Chichester Cathedral, The Cross and the ancient Roman Walls before leaving the city behind and heading towards the South Downs.

The route features the memorable climb to The Trundle, where runners are rewarded with panoramic views across Chichester, Goodwood and the south coast before beginning the return journey. The combination of city landmarks, open countryside and spectacular scenery has made the event a favourite with runners looking for a rewarding autumn challenge.

Alongside the Half Marathon, runners can also choose the 12K distance, giving participants of different abilities the opportunity to experience this well established event. Every finisher receives a medal, while professional chip timing, friendly marshals and excellent event support help create a welcoming race day atmosphere.

With a respected new organiser at the helm and a course that has earned its reputation over more than a decade, the Chichester Half Marathon promises another memorable day of running in one of southern England's most historic cities.

Entries remain open for both distances through the runABC race hub here.
