Lincoln Hits New Stride
Thousands cross the finish line to success at Lincoln Half Marathon...
Thousands of runners took to the streets of Lincoln on Sunday (5 October) as the Lincoln Half Marathon returned, this year organised for the first time by Run For All. Participants, volunteers and spectators created an electric atmosphere across the city as runners completed the 13.1-mile route and raised thousands of pounds for good causes.
The race started at the Lincolnshire Showground and guided runners on a scenic tour past Lincoln Castle, the Cathedral and the University of Lincoln before returning to the Showground for the finish.
In the men’s race, Samuel Roberts crossed the line first in 1:08:06, followed by William Strangeway in 1:09:32 and Lee Mullen in 1:14:45. The women’s title went to Charlotte Knowles in 1:18:43, with Abby Watson second in 1:29:32 and Amy Cragg third in 1:30:52.
While the race winners celebrated impressive times, the day was a triumph for the wider community. Local running clubs, schools and volunteers lined the route to support participants, helping create a memorable day of running and fundraising.
A spokesperson from Run For All, said: “A huge well done to all participants who joined us at the Lincoln Half Marathon, a new addition to the Run For All calendar and a great success. The enthusiasm and support across the city ensured today was enjoyed by all and saw participants raise thousands for local charities.”
