Jack Crawford 10K

10K With A Reason To Celebrate

Just three weeks until this well-established Glasgow 10K gets underway...

There are just under three weeks until one of the country's oldest 10K races gets underway - the Jack Crawford Springburn Cup 10K is a Glasgow institution having been run yearly since the 1950s, originally called the Springburn Cup it was changed to honour an amazing club member in the early 1990s.

This year's staging will take place on 19 March from its usual location of the Leisuredome in Bishopbriggs and the route will follow its familiar path along the Forth and Clyde Canal. Organisers bill the event as a 'a great course and a great way to test how your winter training has gone'.

There's even more reason to enter in 2023, as this year Springburn Harriers is celebrating some major milestones, the club itself is celebrating 130 years since its formation while the 10K is celebrating 35 years. Organisers are asking runners to, 'come join us and help us celebrate Springburn Harriers 130th Birthday'.

Last year, the race was as popular as ever, with Daniel Bradford a Shettleston Harrier winning in a time of 31:17. First female home was West End Roadrunner, Ana Richardson who did it in a time of 39:58. Showing though, that the race is welcoming of all runners - the mid point runner had a finish time of 49:10 and last over the finish line did so in 1:17:42.

Each year members select a charity close to their hearts and to help raise money for that charity a variety of sweet treats will be on offer post race.
