Illuminator Night Trail Race

The Illuminator brings night trail running to the Glen Tanar Estate on Royal Deeside, with 8K, 15K and 15 mile routes exploring the forest after dark. Headtorches and reflective course features add to the atmosphere, while all three distances pass through the event’s illuminated light zone.

Runners follow trails through the estate and take on the climb of Craigendinnie, a defining feature shared by each route. The 8K provides the most accessible option on solid, sheltered forest trails, while the 15K adds more distance and challenge and the 15 mile race provides the toughest test of the evening.

The combination of darkness, woodland trails and illuminated features gives The Illuminator a distinctive character compared with a daytime trail race. Participants can choose a distance to suit their experience, with the shorter routes open to walkers as well as runners and a finisher memento waiting at the end.
