Stevenage Winter Half Marathon 10K 2026

A Festive Finish On The Track At Stevenage

Stevenage Winter Half Marathon & 10K returns on 13 December, combining traffic free racing, an athletics track finish and a festive celebration for the whole family...

There's something rather satisfying about finishing a road race on a proper athletics track, particularly when there's a Christmas celebration waiting beyond the finish line. The ATW Stevenage Winter Half Marathon & 10K returns on Sunday 13 December, offering runners two distances and a festive finale at Ridlins Stadium.

Organised by Active Training World, the event makes good use of Stevenage's extensive network of traffic free tarmac paths. Both races start and finish on the athletics track, with the 10K taking in Fairlands Valley Park and the Half Marathon completing two laps, including a longer section through the park on its second circuit.

The courses offer an appealing final challenge before Christmas, whether runners are chasing one more personal best or simply hoping to finish their racing year on a high. Pacers will be available to help participants maintain their target times, while a generous three hour 30 minute cut off for the Half Marathon makes the longer distance accessible to a broad range of abilities.

And there's plenty happening beyond the racing. The Christmas themed event village will feature live music, refreshments and a professional commentator welcoming finishers home. Pre-race massage and warm ups add to the occasion, while spectators can enjoy the entertainment as they wait for their runners.

Younger athletes haven't been forgotten either. A free 400m Children's Fun Run takes place on the stadium track at 9am, half an hour before the main races, with parents welcome to join in.

For runners who fancy swapping the usual December shopping expedition for a few miles on traffic free paths, Stevenage offers a cheerful alternative.

Entries are available now through the runABC Race Hub.
