Dalgety Bay Gears Up For Springtime 10K
The Dalgety Bay 10K looks set to be another memorable race day in 2026...
The Dalgety Bay 10K returns on 26 April with runners set to enjoy a scenic and challenging race along the Fife coast. The event starts and finishes at the Dalgety Bay Sailing Club and continues to grow as a much loved fixture on the local running calendar.
The route follows sections of the coastal path and surrounding roads within Dalgety Bay, offering a varied multi terrain experience that includes smooth trails, tarmac and woodland. Runners should be prepared for some testing climbs, most notably a steep 400 metre incline from St Bridget’s Kirk onto Beech Avenue.
Two water stations will be available on the course, and finishers can look forward to hot drinks and home baking at the end of the race, available to participants.
Prizes will be awarded to the first three male and female finishers, along with age category winners. The race prides itself on being open to everyone, welcoming runners of all abilities from beginners to elite athletes, with a friendly and supportive atmosphere guaranteed.
The 2025 edition saw Mirabelle Meade take the women’s title in 41:29, while Andrew Thomson won the men’s race in 33:32. Commenting on Facebook after the event, participant Heather McIntosh enthused: "Thanks everyone who worked hard behind the scenes to make this tremendous hard trail race happen. Dalgety Bay residents were amazing encouraging runners without you there for support I think I would have gave up with them hills so huge thanks to you all!"
Organised by Forth Bridges as a community event, the Dalgety Bay 10K combines competitive racing with a strong local focus. Proceeds from the 2026 race will help fund upgrades to the Fife Coastal Path in the area, while also supporting other charities and good causes.
