Action Heart Tuff Un Bows Out In 2026
This is your chance to be part of the last chapter of a classic West Midlands off road race and to support a charity that has made a real difference to many lives...
The Action Heart Tuff Un returns to Baggeridge Country Park near Dudley on 1 March for what will be its final edition, bringing the curtain down on a long standing and much loved event in the West Midlands running calendar. Originating in the early 1990s and formerly known as the Suicide Six, the race enjoyed a heyday that once attracted fields of more than 800 runners. Organisers are hoping runners old and new will come together to make this final outing the best yet.
The Action Heart Tuff Un is a tough multi terrain race covering approximately six miles around the trails of Baggeridge Country Park. The course is known for its constant ups and downs, muddy paths and a memorable shallow stream crossing, offering a gritty but rewarding challenge. With a 90 minute cut off, it is accessible to runners of all abilities who are prepared to embrace the mud, the hills and the strong sense of camaraderie that has always defined the event.
Beyond the racing, the event has always been about supporting a vital cause. Action Heart is a West Midlands based charity delivering cardiac rehabilitation services from Russells Hall Hospital. The charity supports people recovering from heart attacks and heart surgery, as well as those living with long term cardiac conditions.
Runners taking part in the final Action Heart Tuff Un can expect a well-organised event with parking included in the entry fee, category prizes, goodie bags and a finishers medal. Refreshments will be available at the café, making it a social as well as physical challenge and a fitting send off for a race with such deep roots in local running.
