Wokingham Half Marathon finisher Melanie

Wokingham's Not Half Fast!

Since 1984, Wokingham Half Marathon has been the place to PB...

The David Cliff Wokingham Half Marathon is edging towards 3,000 finishers, as another 2,855 crossed the line at Cantley Park in three-and-a-half hours on Sunday, 22nd February 2026. This 13.1-mile Berkshire burn-up has been churning out rapid results since 1984, and the 2026 race was well up to par.

The top three men were well under 67 minutes, and the women's race saw three finishers home in a little over 76 minutes. On chip timing, more than 500 runners beat 90 minutes on the mainly flat, out-and-back route, which is run entirely on closed roads.

From the start in Cantley Park, there is a steady climb to Wokingham town centre, before the trip out to Hurst village, passing the Billingbear Golf Club and Hurst Cricket Club, with very few direction changes before the return leg to the finish at Cantley Park.

David Cliff Wokingham Half Marathon supports many local good causes and community groups, and in turn is supported by them, with their volunteers helping to marshal the route, manage the water stations, and look after the race village.

This year's men's champion was Jack Shayler (Abingdon AC, 1:05:43), followed by Ben Robinson (Western Tempo, 1:06:21) and David Bishop (Derby AC, 1:06:35).

The women's podium was filled by Chelsea Baker (Bristol & West AC, 1:14:07), Megan Marchant (Western Tempo, 1:16:16) and Gemma Kersey (Basildon AC, 1:16:20).

The race village provided catering, massage, a kit tent, changing and showers. Runners received bespoke race medals, pacers, and bib-tag race timing. Competitor Melanie (pictured above) looked pretty pleased with the crowd support in a previous edition of the race.
