There's still time to run in November's beautiful Brodie Castle 10K...
Forres Harriers' fairytale race will return next month with the Brodie Castle 10K all set for a 3 November race date. The event will take in the some of the gentle Moray countryside that surrounds the rose-coloured Brodie Castle, ancestral home of the Brodie clan for over 400 years.
Formerly known as the Dyke 10K, the race will follow much of the same route but will now start and finish in the spectacular grounds of the 16th century Brodie Castle, a National Trust for Scotland property.
A traffic free start to the race will follow and the first kilometre or so will be on the estate road. Runners will enter the grounds of the castle in the last mile and race towards the finish in front of the castle presenting a fantastic photo opportunity for everyone.
In 2023 there were well over 300 runners taking part in the scenic race with James Wilson of Moray Road Runners taking the win in 31:46. In the women's race it was Inverness Harrier, Jenny Bannerman who earned top spot in a time of 36:52.
A spokesperson from Forres Harriers said: "We don't think that there are many events in the country that offer the runner a better view as they race towards a race finish line - a tree lined route to a picturesque castle in lovely grounds."
Organisers are also keen to thank the National Trust for Scotland for their support in promoting and hosting this event with them. Why not visit the castle over the spring and summer or try one of their events before you come along on race day? Visit the National Trust website for details and more information.
