Barry Buddon Half Marathon

Pull A Fast One!

Is it time to update your PB? The flattest half marathon in Scotland, and potentially in the UK, is back next April...

The second edition of the 'flattest half marathon in Scotland' is set to take place at the Barry Buddon Training Area in Carnoustie on 27 April. The Barry Buddon Fast and Flat Half Marathon offers runners a great challenge, whether taking part in a half marathon for the first time, or trying for that elusive PB.

The race involves a single lap course ran completely on traffic free roads, so runners can focus on their running as well as enjoy some of the stunning coastal scenery that parts of the route provide.

The course is mainly flat but with a few short undulations – most are in the first mile and last mile, so runners should start easy and go strong once passing camp HQ and take it steady in the last mile on the way back in to the finish.

Spectators are well catered for with plenty focal points to watch the race near to the start and finish area, another walkable location to support the runners is at the turning points before the main Barry Buddon camp buildings.

Organisers say: "The Barry Buddon Half Marathon is set to be an important annual milestone on the Scottish and UK running calendar, 2024 was a sell out, so confirm your place as soon as you can!"
