Keeping calm and bashing on!

Cool challenge awaits at the Winter Bash

Find your way around this scenic 10 Mile course

There’s a full house for Peak Running’s Winter Bash on Sunday 5 February, such is its popularity amongst runners of all abilities. This is a ‘come and give it a try’ event for the novice trail runner with the opportunity to self-navigate from start to finish.

Peak Running events are always in demand as a result of their attention to detail, welcoming atmosphere and desire to help people achieve their goals. They’re aimed at those looking to switch from the road or wanting to escape the stresses of everyday life in the company of others.

Runners who have taken part in the summer Brooksie’s Bash race will be returning to South Derbyshire in early February on a similar course to the summer version. Using a map and written directions (or a GPX file for lovers of all things tech), you'll run through fields, woods, paths and tackle a few hills and descents too.

There are prizes for the top three men and women; first male over 60 and first female over 60. Hot food and drinks will be available for all finishers at Ticknall Village Hall.

Whilst the organisers encourage people to go off-road, they emphasise the importance of being prepared for the time of year. The weather can change in a short space of time and you should have the right clothing and equipment to deal with that.

More information about the race route, venue, mandatory kit list and what happens on the day can be found at the Peak Running website.

Winter Bash bobble hats have returned in a bright orange colour this year. These were an optional extra to purchase at time of entry. They’ll be an eye catching sight on the course.
