Success Again For Snodsbury Scoot & Scramble
Children and adults had multi-terrain fun whilst supporting two worthy charities...
Young and young-at-heart enjoyed running for the park at Sunday’s (18 June) Snodsbury Scoot and Scramble; beating the heat on an off-road course in an attractive location.
This was the second outing for this not-for-profit event which raises funds for Upper Snodsbury Park in Worcestershire with the monies used to maintain and improve the park and playground for the benefit of the local community.
It was all systems go on Sunday beginning with a warm up by Martha Newbury PT of Exclusive Gym who got everyone loosened up and ready to do their best in very warm conditions. The gym was an event sponsor and had several members taking part in both races.
There was the Scoot for children at 9.45am: one circular lap of a field 1.2K in distance that was marshalled throughout. Youngsters could run on their own or with their parents and were rewarded with a medal.
That was followed by the Scramble at 11am and a quick getaway from the start line to follow a course just over 10K in distance on a mixture of surfaces that included gates and stiles. The Scamble finished in the park.
Luke Jones was first home in a time of 39:40. Neil Laurenson of Black Pear Joggers was second in 40:38 with team mate Rob Bowery third in 43:22.
Tamsin Bowden of Evesham Vale RC was the first female in 46:42. Alison Carr of Pershore Plum Plodders was second in 51:45 and Laura Sherwood of Evesham Vale RC third in 54:12.
The results from both the Scoot and Scramble can be viewed via the runABC Midlands Race Listing page.
From the organisers - thank you to everyone involved and for supporting the event.
