Run Wild at London Zoo 2026

Run Through London Zoo Before The Gates Open

Run for wildlife conservation...

Run Wild at London Zoo returns in 2026 with a unique opportunity to run through one of London's most famous attractions before it opens to the public, combining race day excitement with support for wildlife conservation.

Participants can choose between a 5K race and a family friendly 1 mile event. The 5K route takes runners through London Zoo before heading into the scenic surroundings of Regent's Park and then returning to finish back inside the zoo. The 1 mile event is designed for younger runners aged 4 to 15, accompanied by a parent or guardian, creating an accessible way for families to enjoy the event together.

The 5K is open to runners aged 11 and over and welcomes runners, joggers and wheelchair participants. While the course is suitable for a wide range of abilities, organisers advise that there are some steeper slopes within the zoo grounds.

Every finisher will receive a bespoke Run Wild medal and, as an added bonus, entry includes full day access to London Zoo after the event. That means participants can swap their running shoes for a day exploring animal exhibits, making it a memorable experience for families, friends and wildlife enthusiasts alike.

Run Wild is more than just a race. The event has been created to raise funds for ZSL, the global conservation charity behind London Zoo and Whipsnade Zoo. Funds raised this year will help support efforts to protect critically endangered tigers, with fundraising incentives and prizes available for participants who go the extra mile in support of the cause.

Combining a unique route through London Zoo, a run in Regent's Park, family friendly race options and the opportunity to support wildlife conservation, Run Wild offers a race day experience unlike any other in the capital. Whether taking on the 5K challenge or joining the 1 mile event with younger runners, participants can look forward to a memorable day that blends running, conservation and adventure in the heart of London.

Entries are available via the organiser here.
