The Richmond Half Marathon returns on Sunday 13 September 2026, once again offering runners one of the most distinctive Half Marathon experiences in the UK. Starting inside the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew before the gates open to the public, the race combines a unique setting with a fast course through Richmond upon Thames and a vibrant finish at Old Deer Park.

The race begins beside the Orangery within the UNESCO World Heritage Site, giving participants the rare opportunity to run through Kew Gardens in the early morning. Leaving the gardens, the course follows a predominantly flat route through Richmond's riverside landscapes, mixing roads, riverside paths and parkland while passing many of the area's best known landmarks.

Designed to appeal to both first time Half Marathon runners and experienced competitors, the course offers excellent personal best potential while retaining plenty of scenic interest. Official pacers help runners achieve their target times, with well stocked aid stations, professional medical support and enthusiastic crowds contributing to an outstanding race day experience.

The Richmond Half Marathon is the centrepiece of the Richmond RUN-FEST weekend.
