Celebrate the festive season with the Salcey Forest Christmas 10K, 5K & Junior Fun Run, a popular event set among the beautiful woodlands of Northamptonshire. Organised by Nice Work, this seasonal favourite welcomes runners of all ages and abilities, from experienced athletes looking for a winter challenge to families keen to enjoy some Christmas fun.
The routes follow picturesque, tree-lined trails through Salcey Forest, with the 5K covering one lap and the 10K completing two. The virtually flat course offers an enjoyable running experience through peaceful woodland, although uneven surfaces, exposed tree roots and potentially muddy sections can provide an additional challenge, particularly following wet weather.
Festive fancy dress is encouraged, with a special prize for the best-dressed runner adding to the Christmas atmosphere. Every finisher receives a bespoke medal, while free race photographs and trophies for leading runners add to the occasion. A 1.2K junior race gives younger participants the chance to join the celebrations, and the event also raises funds for housing charity Shelter.
