The 9 Locks Challenge is a point-to-point 10K organised by OP Events, following the historic canal network from Stourbridge to Brierley Hill.
Starting at the Bonded Warehouse, runners follow the Stourbridge Canal before heading through a local nature reserve and returning to the canal. The mixed-surface route combines gravel, potentially muddy paths and tarmac, with a generally inclined profile building towards the defining challenge near the finish: the climb through the nine Delph Locks.
The race uses seeded rolling starts and is chip timed, with the Delph Locks climb also timed separately. A water station is positioned around halfway and finishers receive a medal and goody bag. Free parking is available near the finish at the Waterfront, with coach transport provided to the start in Stourbridge.
