Ranton Run 10K

Time To Run Ranton

A 'quirky but well-loved' race returns to the country lanes of Staffs this November...

The Ranton Run 10K is back for the third year with runners once again invited to explore the best of the Staffordshire countryside whilst supporting the local primary school. This year's outing will take place on 6 October with trail shoes once again a bit of a must, organisers say: "Trail shoes are recommended as part of the route can be muddy depending on the weather. Don’t forget to bring a change of socks and shoes for after the race!"

It starts and finishes at The Coppice, a family-run, working farm with parking on site. The race is known for being a testing, friendly, quirky and hospitable 10K with the scenic route taking runners through the pretty Staffordshire countryside via off-road trails and quiet country lanes.

The route passes four listed buildings including the 13th century All Saints Church and is suitable for runners of all abilities, whether you want to compete for prizes, post a PB or take it at a slower pace and enjoy the views of the autumn landscape.

Speaking of the event, organisers say: "The multi-terrain course makes it an ideal choice for any runner wanting a change from tarmac but nothing extreme or too technical. There is one water station on the route with more at the finish along with food and refreshments which are also available before and during the race so friends and family can enjoy a coffee and something to eat whilst waiting for their runner to finish."

There is a bespoke medal for every finisher as well as prizes including those for the best dressed adult, best dressed child (mini fun run) and the best dressed pair - the more imaginative the better apparently!
