New Thornbury 10K Course Ready To Roll
Seconds out, round two in Thornbury RC’s Race Series and with a new, improved route to try...
Spend a summer evening winding your way up and down country lanes followed by a cold drink afterwards at the Thornbury 10K. It’s on Thursday 29 June at 7.30pm – giving you enough time to leave work, get changed then head on over for a fast or steady run around Oldbury, Gloucestershire.
The Thornbury 10K along with the Riverbank Rollick and the Oldbury 10 Mile are a popular trio of races organised by Thornbury Running Club. There is a wooden medal for each of these and all three interlock to form a larger medal upon completion of the race series. It’s an attractive keepsake as well as a reward for your efforts.
Effort will be the word on 29 June when runners, many from local clubs, make their way to the start (which is nearer Oldbury Sailing Club this year) for this year’s Thornbury 10K. They’ll be focused on the task in hand – a new course on quiet country lanes which goes in the opposite direction with the hill at the end instead of the beginning of the race.
There’ll be competitive runners with their ‘game face’ on, racing hard for individual and club pride and hoping to be in the prizes. Then there are those new to the sport taking part in their first race or dipping their toes into the 10K water. A round of applause and a medal await all at the finish line.
Give it a whirl and enter here.
