Nuclear Fit is an outdoor fitness race at Nuclear Essex in Kelvedon Hatch, combining trail running with a sequence of functional fitness challenges. The main 6K format consists of six 1K trail runs, each followed by a workout station in the central arena known as The Core.
Runners alternate between the trail and six fitness stations featuring challenges such as tyre flips, carries, pulls, throws and lifts. Individual, doubles, relay and pro formats provide different ways to take on the course, while chip timing records the overall result and individual splits.
Younger competitors can take part in the separate Rookies races for ages 9 to 15, which combine shorter trail runs with adapted fitness stations. Finishers receive a medal, with free parking and spectator access also provided at the venue.
