New Era For Leeds Abbey Dash
It's a new era for the ever-popular Leeds Abbey Dash as Run For All takes the reins in 2025...
The Leeds Abbey Dash is set for an exciting new chapter in 2025, with Run For All taking over the delivery of the event after nearly four decades under Age UK’s stewardship. Scheduled for 30 November, the popular 10K race will now start and finish at Wellington Place, offering a new take on what remains one of the UK’s most beloved and fastest road races.
While the name and spirit of the event will remain unchanged, the move marks a significant milestone in the event’s long history. Age UK will continue to play a key role as the lead charity partner, encouraging runners to fundraise in support of their vital work with older people. Runners can still expect the same format, atmosphere and flat, fast course that has made the Abbey Dash a firm favourite for PB-seekers and first-timers alike.
Paul Farmer of Age UK, said: “Age UK has been proud to deliver the Leeds Abbey Dash for nearly 40 years and witness the incredible support from the people of Leeds. We’re delighted that the Dash is entering a new era with Run For All, who will ensure it thrives well into the future. Every runner who fundraises for Age UK will help us support older people across the UK and beyond.”
Run For All's Mike Tomlinson also reflected on the personal significance of the event: “The Abbey Dash marked the start of Jane’s running journey back in 2001, so it’s been part of our story from the beginning. Taking over this race from Age UK is an honour and we’re committed to preserving what makes it so special.”
The 2025 Leeds Abbey Dash promises another memorable day of running for Yorkshire runners. Whether you’re chasing a fast time, fundraising for Age UK or simply soaking in the atmosphere, this is an event not to miss.
