Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend 2024 promo

Take A Bite Of This Marathon

The tour of Mid Sussex returns this May Bank Holiday...

If the very thought of running a full marathon in one go gives you the collywobbles and yet there is that voice in your head that says: "Go on, you can do it", Nice Work has the perfect antidote – the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend – a marathon in bite-sized chunks!

Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend returns for its 13th year in 2024. This unique, multi-terrain event takes place over the May Bank Holiday weekend starting in East Grinstead on Saturday 4th May with a 10 Mile race; moving on to Haywards Heath on Sunday 5th May for another 10 Mile race, and finishing in Burgess Hill on Monday 6th May with a 10K race.

Whether it’s your first race or you are a seasoned runner, the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend offers something for everyone. Participants can compete in an individual race or complete the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles over three days. Younger participants and new runners can enter the Mid Sussex Fun Runs and Mid Sussex Mile races, while runners unable to attend the live events can still take part in the Virtual Race that can be undertaken between 20th April – 6th May 2024.

Overall positions in the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend are calculated on cumulative time and all finishers in the full three-stage marathon race will receive a technical T-shirt plus the much-coveted bespoke three-part commemorative medal.

Event Director, Simon Adby, from AHS Wellbeing said: “We are excited to be once again organising the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend. There’s always such a great atmosphere. With the choice of race distances, it’s the perfect running event for new and seasoned runners, and the fun runs and mile races are an ideal opportunity for local families and younger runners to get involved.’’

Councillor Christopher Hobbs, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Customer Service said: “I am delighted to see that the Mid Sussex Marathon weekend will be returning in 2024 for its 13th year. It is without a doubt a standout in our events calendar, drawing in not just the local community but also participants from far and wide".

Mid Sussex Marathon is managed by AHS Wellbeing and Places Leisure, supported by Nice Work race management company on behalf of Mid Sussex District Council and the three Town Councils (East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, and Burgess Hill).
