Last Call For Dirty Double

Head to The Lakes in ten days time for a fantastic weekend of trail racing...

Are you ready to get Dirty? Lakeland Trails' Series Finale, The Dirty Double will see runners head to the Lake District in just ten days time over the weekend 19/20 October and we hear it is shaping up to be another epic weekend of trail racing fun.

If you are keen to get involved, the great news is that organisers have said that entries will stay open until midnight tonight and there have been extra sailings added for the Ullswater Trail Run 10K, they say: "By popular demand, we've added an another sailing with limited places to accommodate extra 10K runners but you need to sign up now!"

The Helvellyn Trails on Saturday 19 October run alongside historic mine workings but even more impressive is the rugged scenery of some of the highest fells in the Lake District. Those taking part can choose from the Sport Trail 5K, the Trail Run 10K or double the valleys on the Trail Challenge and Trail Race 15K.

The Ullswater Trails (10K and 14K) on Sunday 20 October start with a complimentary cruise from Glenridding to Howtown before those taking part run a linear route back along the shore. Organisers told us: "The long-range weather forecast is looking promising for a fourth consecutive year of sailings!"

The course can be pretty gnarly in sections but that just gives you a reason to pause and take in the breathtaking views of Ullswater and the surrounding fells and the optional fancy dress adds to the fun.

More than a run, there will be live music from Boom Dang and Pete Lashley, race commentary, food and drink all available at the start and finish. So, whether you're new to trail running, an experienced athlete, or simply looking for an unforgettable day out in the Lake District, a family-friendly, atmosphere and some amazing trail running awaits you!
