This relates to: Clacton Half Marathon & 10K

The Clacton Half Marathon returns on Sunday 16 August 2026, offering runners the chance to race alongside the Essex coastline on one of the country's most distinctive seaside courses. Organised as part of Clacton Carnival, the event combines a fast, accurately measured route with the unique atmosphere of a bustling summer resort.

Starting and finishing on the Greensward opposite Fourth Avenue, the Half Marathon follows two laps of Clacton's upper and lower promenades. The predominantly flat course is run entirely on tarmac and concrete, with just a couple of gentle rises on each lap, making it an excellent choice for runners chasing a personal best as well as those taking on the 13.1 mile distance for the first time.

The sea is never far away as runners enjoy uninterrupted coastal views, passing holidaymakers and spectators who help create a lively race day atmosphere. While the exposed promenade can bring a coastal breeze, the straightforward layout and excellent support make for an enjoyable and rewarding challenge from start to finish.

Alongside the Half Marathon, runners can also choose the one lap 10K, while a Junior Fun Run ensures younger participants can experience race day too. Every finisher receives a bespoke medal, with free race photography, complimentary post race massage, chip timing and free parking adding further value to the event experience.

Whether your goal is a new personal best or simply to enjoy a summer race beside the sea, the Clacton Half Marathon combines a quick course, welcoming organisation and classic British seaside scenery to deliver one of Essex's standout road running events.
