Park Run!
The Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival is set to be a highlight of the late summer race calendar once again...
Runners are being invited to experience the best of Fife this summer as the Kirkcaldy Parks Running Festival returns on 29/30 August with a weekend of racing in the 'Lang Toun'. The popular festival, which features Fife’s only half marathon, once again promises a scenic and varied route through some of Kirkcaldy’s best known green spaces and coastal landmarks.
The festival weekend begins on 29 August with a 10K trail race starting and finishing in Dunnikier Park. The multi terrain route winds through gently undulating woodland, tracks around the edge of the golf course and parkland paths, with surfaces including grass, tarmac, gravel and soft trail.
The half marathon follows on the Sunday and starts in Beveridge Park before heading out on a course that showcases Dunnikier Park, Ravenscraig Park, the picturesque coastal path and the historic harbour village of Dysart. Runners will also pass through the newly refurbished waterfront area, including a flat measured mile often used by local clubs, offering a welcome chance to stretch the legs in the closing stages.
An event village in Beveridge Park will provide entertainment, food and a lively finish line atmosphere, with a popular fun run also on the programme to ensure there is something for all the family.
This year’s charity partner is Maggie’s Fife, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2026. The centre provides free cancer support for people across the local community and their families, with organisers encouraging runners to use their place to raise funds and awareness for the vital service.
