Helensburgh's toughest trail race is back
Fans of undulating trails should head to Argyll and Bute next month as Helensburgh AAC’s From Hel’ N Back returns. The 12.5k trail race will be held on Saturday 22 September, starting from Hermitage Academy, Helensburgh.
The course uses the Three Lochs Way and John Muir Way to make a breathtaking off-road route, featuring 1253ft of elevation. Entrants will be rewarded for their efforts with views over the Arrochar Alps, Loch Lomond, the Clyde and the Trossachs.
Post-race, runners can enjoy the famous Helensburgh AAC homemaking. Though organisers warn, finishing is no piece of cake: “It’s not easy but it’s worth it!”
There will also be post-race massages on offer from local massage therapist Maria Dye.
The event is open to runners aged 18 and older with an entry limit of 200. Prizes will be awarded for winning runners in men, women, locals and vet categories.
