The Durham City Run Festival is organised by Events of the North and takes place in the heart of Durham. The festival includes both 5K and 10K races on Thursday evening, together with the Families on Track relay event, showcasing the city’s historic streets and landmarks.
The road courses follow closed streets, riverside paths and cobbled sections, passing iconic landmarks including Durham Cathedral and Durham Castle before finishing at Palace Green. The undulating routes provide a memorable challenge in one of England’s most distinctive city centres.
The event features chip timing, finisher medals, goody bags, secure baggage storage and post race massage facilities. Prizes are awarded across open and veteran categories, while enthusiastic crowd support and the unique city centre setting create a memorable race atmosphere.
