Winter Warmer races return to Glasgow and Edinburgh in 2026...

Runners in Scotland are being invited to fire up their winter motivation as Fix Events brings its popular Winter Warmer Run series back for early 2026. Scotland's two locations (Glasgow and Edinburgh) offer 5K, 10K and half marathon distances, making them an ideal way to shake off the winter chill and begin a new year of training with purpose.

The Edinburgh Winter Warmer takes place on 7 February and makes full use of the roads around Holyrood Park. The 5K covers a single lap of the undulating route, the 10K takes runners twice around the course and the half marathon completes four laps. The hills provide an early season challenge and the city backdrop ensures a memorable start to the running year.

The following day (8 February) the attention shifts west as Glasgow hosts its own Winter Warmer. Set within Glasgow Green, the route follows fast and flat paths with views of the River Clyde, offering an opportunity for early season personal bests.

Both locations promise a lively atmosphere with full chip timing, medals for all finishers, post-race snacks and drinks and a selection of surprise goodies. Organisers stress that the events are designed for runners of all abilities, from those taking their first steps to those sharpening their form for the year ahead.

There is also a charity focus to the events, organisers say: "The Winter Warmer series continues its long-standing support for the housing charity Shelter. We hope to raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause through the combined efforts of runners in both cities."
