Up For A Good Time At Timberhonger?

This hilly race is part of the Bromsgrove Carnival weekend.

Runners can look forward to cheers and a beer at the Timberhonger 10K (Saturday 15 July) – the latter more than welcome after the hills. Then join the party at the Bromsgrove Carnival.

This year sees the 19th outing for the Timberhonger 10K and a delightful course which offers a challenge to any runner. Held on closed roads, it goes down, around and up and is efficiently marshalled from start to finish.

The finish is the best bit as it is in Sanders Park where the two-day Bromsgrove Carnival will be taking place. This not-for-profit event is a well-established and popular attraction which draws large crowds who provide enthusiastic support as runners cross the finish line.

A 5K was added in 2022 for those who wanted something shorter and they got it along with three hills in three miles plus a short off-road section. It's still a scenic route with all the lumps and bumps and a great option for anyone looking for a short distance race.

Youngsters are included as well. There’s the Children’s Challenge on an unmeasured course of 800m for the under 8’s and 1500m for the U11’s, both of which are run in Sanders Park.

There are prizes and trophies for the top three men and women in the 10K and 5K; trophies for winners in the V40, V50 and V60 age groups; £350 for a new 10K course record.  Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a bottle of Timberhonger beer.

As the event is held in conjunction with the Carnival the Children’s Challenge starts at 5pm; the 10K at 6pm followed by the 5K at 6.10pm. A trio of good runs on a summer evening at an event where all profits go to charity.
