Salt from Cleobury Mortimer was the overall winner in an impressive 44:54 followed by William Laye in 45:42. Matthew Bailey was third in 48:53.

Robyn Gore from Leominster was in equally commanding form, becoming the fastest female in 58:28. Amanda Purves was second in 59:08 with Sarah Cordingley third in 59:20.

The last runner crossed the line in 1:35:34. Fnishers were rewarded for their resilience with a famous Ludlow sausage or bacon bap plus T-shirt.

The Brown Clee Burn 11K is organised by a committee including John Knowles and Julie Rowson-Knowles whose enthusiasm and commitment is well known. John always acts as a back marker while Julie cheers on the runners from the top of the hill. She was particularly moved by the determination shown by one runner, a chap who at the start of the year was involved in a near fatal accident at work but recovered and took up running. This race was his toughest to date and the climb up Brown Clee Hill pushed him to his limits.

This event fundraises for charity and the Air Ambulance, local church and village hall are amongst those who have benefitted from the efforts of everyone involved. There is a great community spirit from the local village that comes together each year to support the race.

Note: Brown Clee Hill is 1,770ft (540 metres) and 5 counties plus wild horses can be seen from the top.
