Off to a flying start at the 7 Pools Run

Stay the course at the 7 Pools Run

The route has a bit of everything for every runner.

It’s a little under 4 weeks until the 7 Pools Run on Sunday 20 March on an attractive yet challenging route around Sutton Park in the West Midlands. A ‘park run’ but not as we know it with 6.2 miles (10K) over undulating terrain which includes grass, track, trail, tarmac and mud for KIDS charity in Sutton Coldfield.

The 7 Pools Run is a well established event which caters to all tastes and backgrounds. Runners from all walks of life, from the person who does the sport for fitness and enjoyment to the competitive athlete looking to push themselves have taken part for over quarter of a century and long may it continue.

All of which happens in one of the biggest urban parks in Europe which is also a National Nature Reserve. 2,400 acres of woodland, open heathland, marshes, wetlands and the star of the show – 7 lakes or pools which were constructed several centuries ago to feed the local population. Nowadays, the park is used for various leisure activities including this run and is a popular visitor attraction.

It starts at 11am near the Town Gate entrance to the park, not far from the Visitor Centre. The course is well signed and marshalled – there will be plenty of cheers through the different types of terrain – and all participants will have their times recorded and displayed on the event website.

Finishers receive a t-shirt for their efforts.

For anyone who hasn’t run the course before there is a video of the event taken over the entire race on the 7 Pools Run website (home page).

This is a scenic race that will test any runner and for a very worthy cause. Register now at the 7 Pools Run website.
