The Edinburgh Marathon is one of the UK’s largest Marathon events and part of the Edinburgh Marathon Festival. The point to point route starts in Edinburgh city centre before passing historic landmarks including the Royal Mile, Holyrood Park and the Scottish Parliament, then heads east towards the East Lothian coastline and the finish in Musselburgh.
Known for its fast and flat profile, the course has become popular with both first time Marathon runners and experienced runners targeting a PB. Long coastal sections beside the Firth of Forth, strong crowd support and the mix of city and seaside scenery create one of Scotland’s best known road running experiences.
