New parkrun For North Lincs!
Runners in North Lincolnshire can take advantage of Epworth's new parkrun...
There's a new parkrun for runners in North Lincolnshire with Epworth Equestrian's inaugural event taking place last weekend (29 July) and attended by close to 100 eager parkrunners.
Staged at Epworth Equestrian Centre this parkrun is run entirely on trail paths over a flat, out and back course, with a double loop of one of the equestrian fields. The start line is a short walk from the car park where there are toilets and a cafe for post-run rewards!
Despite the recent rainfall, the weather was in fine form for the event's maiden outing, and although dark clouds threatened to dampen spirits, the rain held off throughout.
The event's race report was compiled by Carl James who commented: "For a flat profile, it’s a challenging course, the views are stunning, the horse jumps in the field give you something to take your mind off your burning legs and lungs, and the all the marshals dotted around the course were super encouraging. A special shout out needs to go to the young marshal with the air horn, well played young’un."
Post parkrun many of the runners descended on the equestrian centre café for some tasty breakfast rolls, cake, tea and coffee. Completing his report, Carl summarised: "All in all, a fantastically well organised event, which the volunteers managed as if it were their 100th not their 1st. Thank you on behalf of all the runners, joggers, shufflers and walkers, you did yourselves proud."
