Croy 10K Set For Summer Debut

New 10K road race comes to the Highlands this summer...

A brand new fast and scenic road race is set to launch in the Highlands this summer with the inaugural Croy 10K taking place on Sunday 1 June. Nestled between Nairn and Inverness, the event will showcase the beauty of the Croy, Clephanton and Loch Flemington area while offering runners the chance to chase a personal best on a gently undulating course.

Organised by Chilled Running, the team behind the popular Moray Marathon, the Croy 10K is designed to be both accessible and competitive. They say: "As part of a growing series of local races from 5Ks to ultras, the Croy 10K represents our mission to bring more high-quality, inclusive events to the region."

The race will begin at Croy Village Hall and follow a looped course along the B9006 and quiet single-track and country roads. With its mix of smooth tarmac, picturesque surroundings and an aid station at the halfway mark, the event has all the makings of a Highland summer classic. Organisers describe it as 'a road race with PB potential in a stunning, lesser-known part of Scotland'.

Finishers will be rewarded with a bespoke chunky medal and basic refreshments at the finish line, which is conveniently located near the popular Pure Bakery and café. Coffee vendors and local food options will be on hand to help refuel runners and spectators alike.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers based on gun time, along with age category prizes, making it a competitive but welcoming race for all levels.
