The Vitality London 10,000 is a major closed road 10K through the heart of the capital, bringing thousands of runners together for a route featuring some of London's most recognisable streets and landmarks. Established in 2008, the event has become an annual celebration of running and physical and mental wellbeing.
Runners follow a fast central London course past landmarks including St Paul's Cathedral, the Bank of England, Somerset House, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The route provides an opportunity to experience normally busy city streets without traffic before heading towards the distinctive finish on The Mall outside Buckingham Palace.
The event welcomes runners across a broad range of abilities, from those targeting a fast 10K performance to participants taking on the distance as a personal challenge. Large crowds and the landmark filled route create the atmosphere of a major city race, with the Buckingham Palace finish providing one of the event's defining features.
