The Kelpies Half Marathon has officially sold out ahead of its third running, underlining the growing popularity of one of Scotland's newest road races. Returning to Helix Park in Falkirk on Saturday 26 September, the event will once again welcome a full field of runners for a distinctive Half Marathon centred around one of Scotland's most recognisable landmarks.

Starting and finishing beside The Kelpies, the route combines fast running with memorable scenery as competitors cross the Firth of Forth using both the Clackmannanshire Bridge and the historic Kincardine Bridge. Along the way, runners pass through Skinflats and Kincardine before returning to Helix Park, with the exposed bridge sections offering spectacular views across the estuary and a course unlike any other in the Scottish running calendar.

Organisers describe the route as flat and fast, with just one short climb approaching Kincardine, making it an attractive option for runners chasing a Half Marathon personal best while remaining equally welcoming for first time competitors. Chip timing, a commemorative medal and event T shirt await every finisher, with Active Root providing recovery drinks at the finish.

The event has also partnered with Maggie's Forth Valley for 2026, encouraging participants to raise funds in support of people living with cancer and their families. Alongside a continued commitment to reducing single use plastics through refillable water stations and recyclable cups, the race reflects an emphasis on both community and sustainability.

Although general entries have now sold out, runners can still join the official waiting list in case places become available. Judging by the rapid demand for this year's race, the Kelpies Half Marathon is quickly establishing itself as one of Scotland's must run autumn events.
