Take on one of Britain's most celebrated ultra-marathons at Country to Capital, a challenging 43-mile race organised by Go Beyond Events. Starting in the picturesque Buckinghamshire town of Wendover and finishing in London's Little Venice, this popular event attracts experienced ultra runners and ambitious newcomers looking to test their endurance. As the opening race in the Go Beyond Grand Slam series, it has earned a reputation as a highlight of the ultra-running calendar.

The point-to-point route begins with trails and country paths through the beautiful Chiltern Hills, passing through rural landscapes and villages before heading towards Denham. Runners then join the Grand Union Canal towpath for the final 20 miles into London, enjoying a predominantly flat stretch alongside the water. With a mixture of cross-country trails, roads and canal paths, the course offers a varied challenge, combining early climbs with long, runnable sections that test both physical and mental stamina.

With its welcoming atmosphere, experienced event team and five well-stocked checkpoints, Country to Capital provides plenty of support throughout the journey. GPS tracking allows supporters to follow participants' progress, while baggage transfer makes the point-to-point format easier to manage. Whether tackling a first major ultra or looking to improve on a previous performance, runners can look forward to a memorable journey from the countryside into the heart of the capital.
