Hop On Down To Hoby
A laid back, scenic trail race is on offer for runners this October...
Leicestershire's Hoby Hop Trail Race offers runners a relaxed off road autumn event with organisers promising 'a laid back 5 mile race with some great views thrown in for good measure'. This year's race will take place on 5 October with runners congregating at Hoby & District Village Hall.
The Hoby Hop is a Gold award-winning five-mile chip timed cross country race across the countryside of the Wreake Valley taking in fields, stiles, brooks, traditional footpaths, the odd hills and great views over Leicestershire and beyond.
There is also a 5 mile Canicross event which was introduced in 2023, organisers commented: "After the successful running of our first canicross race last year and all of the fantastic feedback which resulted, a decision was taken to expand the number of canicross prizes and awards to match that of the trail race."
Encouraging more sign ups, organisers say: "With just over two months left until this year's race and everything all but in place, its time to get your names down and join our fantastic team on the start line. We have decided to keep prices at the same level as previous years and we will never put prices up without good reason, something we are all very proud to continue.
"Our fantastic homemade cakes will again be on sale after the race. Our friendly marshalling team will be out on the course again this year making sure you all get around safely and enjoy the day."
