Get Up And Running This Year
Glasgow's beautiful parks play host to running events throughout the year...
Up and Running Events continue apace in Glasgow's parks this year with events planned in four of the city's Dear Green Places for the remainder of 2024! Each location hosts a variety of distances - so there are plenty of options for runners to choose from.
25 August will see runners descend on the South Side's Queens Park with 5K and 10K races on offer. Into autumn and it is the turn of the West End's Kelvingrove Park on 15 September where runners will again have the choice of 5K and 10K distances.
Pollok Park will host 5K and 10K races on 27 October with the year's race action finishing up in Bellahouston Park on 17 November where a Half Marathon distance will be added to the 5K and 10K mix.
A spokesperson from Up and Running Events said: "We aim to put on the best races in Scotland. We currently have monthly 5K and 10K races throughout parks around Glasgow, we aim to get to the rest of the country as soon as we can.
"Our runs are for everyone, we are friendly and welcoming to all. Whether you are just starting out and doing your first 5K or you are leading the pack and have many years running experience in your legs, we are here for you."
Runners are loving the new Glasgow events with comments like this from Jamie Fullarton: "The whole atmosphere was so welcoming. You had serious pros and first starters in there, just what it should be. So many people achieved their goals which was so nice to see."
