The Guy Fawkes 5 is a popular 5 mile road race organised by Tewkesbury Running Club. Race HQ is at Tewkesbury Sports Hall, with the race starting and finishing nearby at Walton Cardiff Lane.
The flat course follows a distinctive frying pan shaped route, initially heading towards Walton Cardiff before joining quieter country lanes. The only notable inclines come as runners cross over the M5 twice, making this a fast course with plenty of potential for runners targeting a 5 mile PB.
The race is chip timed from the start mat to the finish and is supported by marshals, signage and mile markers around the course. Runners can also expect a finisher medal, prizes across overall and age categories, baggage facilities and the club's popular complimentary homemade cakes after the race.
